June, 2021 – Gulf Shores, AL. On June 5th, A full field of golfers and many furry friends showed up at the ONE Club Gulf Shore’s 4th Annual Best 45 Holes in Golf Charity Tournament. This is the most unique tournament of the year with ONE Club and Craft Farms courses joining together to create a competitive and fun environment for hundreds of golfers and guests.
And all for a great cause. This year, the monies raised went towards Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. The Zoo recently relocated and are next door neighbors to ONE Club Gulf Shores and Craft Farms golf courses.
ONE Foundation, started by Dan Palmier who is a philanthropist and businessman, increased the Zoo contributions by matching each dollar raised during the day. ONE Foundation was able to provide more than $30,000 to the Zoo. “We love our neighbors at the Zoo and know how important their animals and habitat development is to this region of the United States”, said Dan Palmier, Founder of ONE Foundation and owners of ONE Club. “It is a blessing to be able to give to our neighbor.”
“Dan and ONE Foundation’s generosity is inspiring!”, said Joel Hamilton, Executive Director of the Zoo. “We are able to use these proceeds and gifts to expand our Kangaroo and Aviary programs for education and enjoyment of our patrons.”
Steeped in Judeo-Christian values, ONE Foundation’s mission statement is to acquire and grow resources that assist individuals in local and global communities to attain a better quality of life. ONE Foundation, inspired by His Purpose, works on the principle that helping and serving others is divine and blesses all those who participate. The Bible says in Proverbs 11:25, “A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” (NIV)
The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, once known as the “Little Zoo That Could” for its starring role in the 2006 Animal Planet series, has grown and is now open at its new location. It is the first completely new zoo to be built in the USA in over twenty years. It offers beautiful, enriching animal habitats for over 300 animals. The unique design of the spacious 25-acre campus provides learning and conservation experiences as guests explore The Americas, Coola Springs Outback, Big Cat Canyon and the African Savannah. As a non-profit organization, the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo relies on the generous support of donations to support its mission to create compelling experiences that connect people and community with wildlife and inspire personal responsibility for conservation of the natural world.
